For the discount shopper in all of us, Black Friday is a bargain lover’s dream. While most shoppers scour the racks for steals and deals on holiday gifts, homeowners (new and old alike) can benefit from scoping out home-related products that are cheaper the day after Thanksgiving. Here’s a short list of home items to look for and save on when Black Friday shopping.
- Gas grills, air conditioners and other summer supplies: Many summer supplies and appliances are already marked down during winter. Add Black Friday specials and you could save a huge chunk of change on that grill or patio set that’d look great in your backyard.
- Kitchen cookware, gear and appliances: Looking to replace some of your kitchen items, or moving into a new home and want a fresh set of cutlery? What about a deal on that expensive mixer or fondue pot you won’t use that often? Kitchen supplies are generally heavily discounted on Black Friday.
- TVs and other electronics: On Black Friday, televisions tend to be a real steal. DealNews is predicting record-low prices for televisions on Black Friday. They estimate that some 42-inch LCD TVs could go as low as $189. WalMart’s doorbusters include a 32-inch TV for just $98 and a 60-inch Vizio for $688. Don’t forget to check the savings at your local electronics retailers, too.
- Furniture: Black Friday is a good time to buy furniture sold by big-name retailers such as Target, Wal-Mart and Ikea. Heavily discounted items include futons, desks and kitchen sets.
